Shadow’s ears perk and he looked at James and tilted his head. Sanctum watched James with watery eyes and looked at him, aiming a blast at the boy.
“James?” Mephiles asked, watching his son.
“You miss my mother don't you? You miss when you played together as kids. You just wanted her to notice you, didn't you?” James asked, his eyes narrow.
Sanctum stiffened up and looked at James, trying to fire a final blast, but lowered his hand slightly as Shadow watched.
“Kill him, James! He killed your mother!” Mephiles shouted.
“And now you regret killing her, don't you?” James asked, ignoring his father’s orders.
“You don't know how it feels for a mother and a father like yours to love you. I didn't exactly have that. Then later, she grew up to forget about me. She never mentioned a single detail about me to any of you,” Sanctum choked out.
“Have you ever thought that maybe it hurt her to much to think about your childhood together?” James asked.
“Then why did she, like the rest of them, ignore me?! She didn't even try to tell them what I was really like, not just some 5-year-old that would grow up unsuccessful and a monster!!” Sanctum yelled.
“Maybe she tried and they wouldn't listen,” James calmly stated as the throne started glowing again.
The glowing Chaos Emeralds appeared spinning in the middle of the room on a sun shape in the mosaic floor. A faint shimmering appeared above the emeralds as warmth pulsed throughout the room.Sanctum looked, and then focused on a strong blast. He sent out an opposing energy through the throne and it crumbled along with the Chaos Emeralds. The throne and Emeralds rebuilt themselves, and were now impossible to destroy. The Chaos Emeralds grew in size. Then a faint outline of a figure in the middle of them. James tackled Sanctum as a bright flash of light emanated from the figure. A passed out, but alive, Lizzie was lying in a heap in the center of the room. Sanctum fell back with a grunt and watched Lizzie. Meph’s ears perked and her ran over to her side.
“Elizabeth!!” Mephiles breathed as he carefully lifted her head off the ground and her eyes flashed open.
“Meph?” Lizzie breathed.
“Mom!!” James yelled, sitting on Sanctum.
“James, let him up,” Lizzie stated as James clambered off Sanctum’s chest.
Sanctum watched Liz and stood up, staying silent. Mephiles growled and held Lizzie back. Lizzie wiggled out of Meph's grasp and walked over to Sanctum. She punched him in the face and snapping his lower jaw.
“You bastard! How dare you think that I never tried to tell mom and dad to be nicer to you!!!!” Lizzie snarled as she grabbed Sanctum by the chest fluff and slammed him against the nearest wall, her fangs bared, muzzle pulled back, and her ears against her skull in a terrifying image that would scare the shit outta Zeus.
"Ow. What else was I to believe when you all moved away a left me behind when I was 6?!" Sanctum said, his ears back, holding his broken jaw in place.
"I ran away to find you!! You're my big brother damn it!!! I friggin missed you!!" Lizzie yelled, punching him again with tears in her eyes and releasing him.
“I lived on my own and I was a better success than what father and mother believed. I couldn't think about you either,” Sanctum said as he stepped back from the punch and rubbed where he got hit by his baby sister again.
“I had almost wish you were dead! That way I could have seen you at least once!!” Lizzie said loudly.
“Well I had the same wish I wanted to kill myself, but I wasn't going to let our parents words get into my head,” Sanctum said.
"Only I have the right to kill you, jackass!!!" Lizzie yelled, punching him again.
Sanctum fell back and skidded along the ground. He grunted slightly and shakily stood back up and spat out blood. He Wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked at her with a tired and frustrated look.
"Fine then. Kill me. I can finally be done with this hatred," Sanctum said.
"I refuse to bend to Father's will. I carve my own destiny," Lizzie stated, face expressionless.
“Doesn't feel like it,” Sanctum said, looking at her with a black eye.
“I only did that because you deserve it for killing me and forcing me to kill my niece,” Lizzie said as she walked over to him.
Sanctum watched what she was doing and removed his hand from under his jaw. He backed off and looked around the whole room, thinking.
“Where is father?” Sanctum asked.
“His palace., fending off a big bad monster,” Lizzie said dismissively.
LIzzie suddenly stiffened as a burning seal suddenly appeared on her stomach. She cried out and collapsed in pain. The seal exactly the same as the demonic symbol drawing shadow had shown her years ago.
“Mom!!!!” James yelled as he rushed to his mother’s side.
“E-elizabeth?” Sanctum said backing away.
Shadow’s ears perked and he winced slightly.
“O-ow,” Shadow uttered, holding his shoulder as he collapsed, the same seal as Lizzie’s appearing on his shoulder as well.
